As a Seattle hairstylist, I have tried soo many different extensions methods over the years. I’ve seen trends come and go, and different methods come onto the market. I can say without a doubt though, that IBE hair extensions are the absolute BEST method out there.
I’m proud to offer this method for my clients because it truly allows me to give them their dream hair. So in this post, I’m sharing all about why IBE is the best method for hair extensions!
What Are IBE Hair Extensions
First, let’s cover what IBE hair extensions are!
IBE stands for Invisible Bead Extensions. Similar to other weft (also called hand-tied) extension methods, the human hair extensions are sewn to your natural hair. However, unlike other methods, the invisible bead provides a completely seamless look.
Hand-tied or weft extensions give you fuller, longer hair, and allow your natural hair to grow out more healthily.
It’s an amazing option for those who are looking for that perfect length and volume and haven’t been able to achieve it naturally. I have seen extensions give my clients so much more confidence. It can literally be life-changing!
IBE also has a rigorous, months-long certification process that stylists go through to be able to install extensions using their method. I’m proud to have passed this training and am now certified as an IBE Elite Artist.
Why IBE Extensions Are the Best Hair Extension Method
So now let’s talk about why IBE really is the best method available on the market.
1. They’re Super Comfortable
One of the biggest adjustments to get used to when you have hair extensions installed is how the hair feels on your head. Other extensions methods can actually be pretty uncomfortable and painful, even over time.
With IBE, you can expect your hair to feel heavy for a couple of days, but after that, they are very comfortable to wear!
There’s no pulling or tension at the scalp, which is a huge difference compared to other methods. The IBE method only has 10-15 attachment points on the foundation hair, whereas other methods can have up to 100 attachment points, which can all cause tension and pulling.
2. A Seamless & Natural Look
Besides the comfort, the biggest benefit of IBE extensions is that they give you a completely seamless and natural look. It truly does not look like you’re wearing extensions with IBE, even when your hair is up!
The method is super flexible, which allows you to pull your hair back any way you’d like. You can even wear it up right away, and no beads will be exposed.
When I install extensions for a client, I also often custom-color the extensions to blend with the client’s natural hair color. We’ll typically do a cut as well to blend the look overall.
3. No Tape or Glue
Unlike tape-in hair extensions, there is no sticky tape or glue with IBE. This tape glue can cause allergies for some, so not having to worry about that is a huge plus!
The tape can also be very heavy and only attach to a few hairs, which causes damage to your natural hair.
I absolutely love hand-tied weft extensions as compared to tape-in, and I always recommend this route to my clients.
4. Benefits to Your Natural Hair
An extra benefit of wearing IBE extensions is that they will actually promote the health of your natural hair!
I have seen clients (myself included!) be able to grow their natural hair out much longer and healthier than was ever possible without extensions.
This is not necessarily the case with other extension methods, however. Others are not as precise as IBE, which causes uneven tension that can create damage to your natural hair.
